Search and Rescue Aluminum Break-Apart Tracking Stick.
Designed for step by step tracking of missing or lost individuals by professional and volunteer search and rescue tracking teams, this 3-part aluminum tracking stick is 38"assembled from tip to base and is stored in rubber handle when not in use. The 3 individual 12" components have a score mark around the entire shaft at 1" intervals and screwed into one another. The tip is 2" in length and has four score marks at 1/4" intervals from the base. The bottom 12" section is kept in the handle and the two other sections can be stowed in the handle when not in use. Designed after the SARA Tracking Stick sold in the early 1980's and no longer available.This tracking stick is in use with unpaid professionals in a large Southern California Sheriff's Department.
