Up for bid is an  Ames manufactured Calvary sword. I am far from a sword expert and the research I have done leads me to believe this is a model 1840 Wristbreaker Calvary sword.(If any Ebayer has any info about this sword I would appreciate it) The sword was part of the original family estate for well over a 100 years. The sword has not been cleaned but wiped of some old grease that was obscuring the ,markings as shown. The blade is marked Ames Mfg Co on One side and C on the other as shown. The sword is used used and shows usage and someone put tape around the handle as shown and scattered light rust and would greatly benefit from a detailed cleaning and oiling as they are uncleaned since being greased up for storage many years ago.
I have taken a dozen pictures so you can see any dings, dents, cracks, chips,
